Living in the West for several years to study architecture in diverse cultures and to gain practical experience was a valuable experience for me. I learned the joy of forming relationships, exchanging views and creating things with people of different cultures and backgrounds who share a familiarity with the tool called architecture.
In particular, participating for short periods of time on multinational teams in numerous competitions, while physically demanding, enabled me to feel once more the delight that comes from the pure act of creation. Instead of being preoccupied with everyday design work, I hope to continue to adopt a broad perspective in design and to remember the source of that delight.
