環境と建築と新しい風景

“The Environment, Architecture and a New Landscape”

建築を計画するとき、敷地の環境を考えることはとても重要である。まわりの環境によって新しい建築が生み出されることもあるし、建築ができたことで、新しい環境が生まれることもある。そうやって、環境と建築はともに関係しあっている。そして、新しい風景が生まれる。
妹島スタジオでは、小さな環境から大きな環境までいろいろな環境をどのように捉えられるかを考え、分析し、それを建築につなげていく。
環境と建築を行き来しながら、それらの関係が作り出す、多様で新しい風景を生み出すことをめざしていく。

The Sejima Studio will consider and analyze how diverse environments from small environments to large environments can be perceived, and relate its findings to architecture.
Alternating between the environment and architecture, the studio will have as its goal the generation of diverse, new landscapes created by their relationship.
